Most are people are used to Sunday Funday - but Friday's are WAY better in my opinion :)
Amber comes in tonight for the annual Brain Tumor Walk tomorrow morning. I'm so excited to see a great majority of my girl friends at this event. Tomorrow morning we will all meet at my house for breakfast and then head to Ft. Worth together for the event. Since I can't find the camera (with the World Series pictures on it) I may have a hard time with pics...but hopefully someone will have a camera that I can steal their photographic skills from :)
After the walk on Saturday Cayla, Karen and I are going to head to sweet home College Station for the Aggie/Oklahoma game. 5 of the 6 of my girls from college will be in town for the game I am super excited to see all of them! What a fantastic impromptu girls weekend!!!!
DAY 2 of the 30 day challenge: The meaning behind my blogs name:
I feel like these first two days of topics I have already told you about. In my first post in September, I told you the history of my blogging. You can read it here if you like..... or I'll just recap for you for purposes of this challenge :)
No matter what (except maybe home projects in my case) you should finish what you start. Does it matter the time? NO - Does it matter the distance? NO - Does it matter if you are DFL? NO - the point is to finish and finish strong and proud. My momma always said "If at first you don't succeed; try and try again...." Of course she stole that saying... but as a kid, growing up, she always pushed us to go for our goals....whatever they may be. So combine that with my mantra of triathlon which is "JUST FINISH!" you marry the two and get TRI AND FINISH.... ta da.... can I get a round of applause please?????
My blog was started to chronicle and hold myself accountable for my training as well as connect with others through the blog world. I've virtually met some super awesome people who continue to inspire me daily as I read their blogs. It's motivation when I need it - it's an outlet for creative expression - it's a place where I can ask for and give advice..... all the while hoping that I inspire someone to do something along the way. The best gift you can give ANYONE is a healthy lifestyle. If that means I motivated one person to get up and walk 1/4 of a mile I will feel accomplished. I hope I inspire people to do more than a 1/4 mile; but we all start somewhere...
Happy Friday my bloggy friends - I'm thankful for each and everyone of you :)
