I've spent the entire day (almost) researching where I can buy my Garmin. This happens to me...... I get so entrenched in an idea and I let it consume me....
I.Want.It.Now...... I just called my bike shop and they have the 410 and the 205 but NOT the 305. If I want it they can order it for me... this is appealing for the following:
1. I always get a discount at my bike shop - thank you to my sisters childhood friend who runs it. Seriously he kicks ass.
2. The ability to charge my credit card for this purchase with zero percent interest for one year is overwhelmingly a plus..... Responsible buy now pay later attitude.
3. It gives me a good excuse to go piddle around the bike shop..... and find some good cold weather gear or just new gear in general ....
Reasons NOT to order it at the bike shop:
1. I think REI has it... I could go there and have instant gratification - however no ability for discount or use of bike shop credit card.
2. If I patronize somewhere else I could have it for my three runs the remainder of the week. BOO-Ya!
3. WAIT - and ask for it for Christmas...... but the itch is getting harder to resist....
I've also now become fully freaked out that I'm running 13.1 miles in like 18 days.... which for the next 18 days I will obsess over (and subsequently you will get to read about) and then I will continue to obsess that in fact actually RAN 13.1 miles.... just in time to stop obsessing about that and jump on the WHAT THE HELL AM I THINKING DOING A 70.3 bandwagon....
Seriously I need help, therapy, or maybe just a run..sans my Garmin 305...bummer......
I got mine last year at Costco and it was the best price I could find. Good luck! (Dick's sporting goods also carries them.)
